This is what I was looking for, a small set of simple (good sounding) triads/power chords. I especially like how you point out the 1, 3, 5, 7 notes.

A bit of music theory to add: The only difference between a Major and minor chord is the 3 note. Notice inversions #1 & #2 only have 1 & 5 notes. These are sometimes referred to as power chords because they are neither Major nor minor. The beauty is they can be played over Major or minor and the other instruments will fill in the proper 3 note. When playing as a solo instrument they may not sound right on a minor chord because the minor 3 note is needed to distinguish the chord as minor. In that case you would play a minor chord with the 3 note and it's possible to omit the 1 or 5 note (as in inversion #3)

Lastly, the other inversions which have 3 notes can be easily altered from Major or minor by moving the 3 note sharp or flat.

This is an awesome reference for guitarists of any skill level: whether you are a beginner or have played for years, these Inversions unlock “the sound” of Christian P&W guitar. Troy has done an amazing job of explaining everything in detail, but simple enough for the most basic player to understand!! For the price of a fast food combo meal, you have a practical tool to add to your arsenal. Do yourself, and Troy, a favor and pick this up. You’ll be glad you did; I know that I am!!
