What is Worship Guitar Basic Training?

Worship Guitar Basic Training is a linear course (the modules are meant to be watched/completed in sequence) designed for the player who knows the very basics of guitar—the basic open chords and barre chords—and wants to transition to lead guitar playing in a modern worship setting.

What’s the goal of Worship Guitar Basic Training?

This course is all about building the foundation. You will learn the necessary theory, hacks, skills and practice methods to become a positive contributor on your worship team.

Can I learn these skills somewhere else?

For sure! These concepts aren’t exclusive to this course by any means. The main benefits of this course are: 1) It’s taught through the lens of playing in a modern worship setting; therefore, the application is tailored to that purpose, 2) The material is 100% Christ-centered. If you prefer to learn from a Christ-follower and would prefer to learn the basics with content that is Christ-centered, this course is perfect for you.

When I’m done with basic training, what’s next?

Worship Guitar Basic Training comes before Worship Guitar Boot Camp. So once you complete Basic Training, you’re ready for Boot Camp. I realize my military analogy fell apart, but it is what it is! I created Boot Camp years before realizing there was a need for a collection of videos that focused on foundational skills.

Also included with this course are printable resources such as diagrams, cheat sheets and quizzes that will aid you in your learning. And, of course, members have access to Worship Guitar Boot Camp and the Song Resources section.
