I joined when my church asked me to learn the electric guitar. I’ve played acoustic for years but was always nervous to jump into the tone/techniques that are specific to worship. A whole world that I didn’t want any part of. Troy and GuitarForHisGlory have taken me from nothing, to a place of relative confidence in myself as a musician. Everything you need to know for worship guitar- Troy has it covered. Song tutorials, technique and theory lessons, how to fit into a band, all aspects of tone- all while keeping Christ and His Word at the center with a focus on the words and theology of the song. Keeping Christ at the center. Troy offers 1v1 lessons at a super affordable price that have been super helpful, but his videos on the site are so extensive that I don’t even feel like I need the lessons anymore. 10/10!!

I had a lesson with Troy a little while back and it was so good. I learned a ton in such a short amount of time. He took stuff that I already kind of understood and basically unlocked it in my brain in such a way that I could actually apply it. He made such a difference in my sound and style and opened up a new world of creativity for me. I would highly recommend him for consultation sessions!

One of, if not THE best place for worship guitarists. Troy does an AMAZING job at breaking down this guitar genre. He explains it all. I have learned an immeasurable amount of knowledge since signing up. My favorite is how he explains the scripture from which these songs were created from! One cannot go wrong with GFHG!

Troy taught me how to use my guitar playing to enhance worship, instead of being a distraction. His approach unlocked the fretboard for me. I also learned how to use effects to properly sit in the mix in a stripped down band as well as a larger ensemble setting. Highly recommended!

I have been receiving one-on-one consulting/lessons from Troy for the last five months.  I can say clearly that my ability to learn new songs has improved 100%.  There are things that I can do now that I could not do before learning from Troy.  He gives me specific recommendations that improve my technique and skill.  This is always with the knowledge that the end goal is to facilitate learning worship songs that glorify God and lead people to worship.  I have used the Worship Guitar Basic Training videos that benefit my skill and learning.  I use the Song library to learn these great worship songs.  The videos are clearly instructive and easy to understand.
